Rio retired to AFG in 2016 after 17 races!  He was recently returned to Allies and is looking for a confident owner and also a home with at least one other large dog for companionship.

Rio has been in foster care for awhile now.  He is a handsome boy who needs a confident owner to handle his occasional stubbornness, but he is a good boy who loves playing with a soccer ball in the back yard.   Rio gets along with other Greyhounds and we think another hound at home would be good for him.   He has not been destructive at all…except for a stuffy now and then.  🙂
He is not allowed on the furniture, but on occasion have caught him sleeping on the couch and gets down right away when told to. He is not a hound that likes to dress up in coats so he stays pretty warm and comfortable.
He is not a fan of getting his nails trimmed and active daily walks that will help keep them at a good length otherwise a short trip to the vet for a trim would be best.   He is a hit at the meet/greets he attends and loves all the attention he gets and has not met anyone who he didn’t like and want to follow them around the store. Rio does seem to be overlooked, but we are not worried, there is a family out there for him.  He is a handsome boy and is always excited when I come home from work…a bit goofy at times.  Curiosity gets the best of him when it comes to new things and likes to see what you are doing around the house…especially if he thinks food is involved 🙂

If you think Rio is the grey for you…come out to meet him at the monthly meet/greets and maybe add him to your list of potential greys for adoption. You wont regret it. 🙂
